Most bathroom heat lamps use short-wave radiation to get the job done fast. For us adults, it’s fine. But for a baby? Those high-intensity flashes and UV peaks are way too much for their developing eyes. It’s just too bright. So, we decided to change how the light actually works. It blocks out the harsh blue light and UV rays but lets the cozy, long-wave infrared heat slide right through. The result? You get all the warmth, but none of that blinding spotlight effect. It’s a soft, gentle glow instead. Dealing with the heat Nobody wants a “hot spot” on a baby’s skin. To stop burns before they happen, we’re very careful with the wattage. We keep the density low so the heat is even and safe. We also use high-purity quartz. Bathrooms are humid, and cheap tubes cloud over after a few hundred hours. Ours stay clear. Plus, we designed the housing to diffuse the light. The baby can’t see the filament directly, which means no sudden flashes to startle them awake. The honest trade-off Here’s the thing: when you filter out certain wavelengths for safety, you lose a little bit of efficiency. Because we’re prioritizing eye protection, these lamps need a bit more power to hit the same temperature as a standard industrial tube. Just make sure your circuit can handle the load.
